Patarei - the place of paranoia

Patarei sea fortress-prison 2013

On the left picture is the helpful person who gave us smart advice to climb up and see something what everybody can't see (the angry guard saw us later but luckily not up on the building!)

View from the place we managed to go:

We got also the hint to come back when the gate is opened and then we saw the creepy inner-yard.
Lot of thanks to that guy!

The inner yard with open air cells:

Everyone can see the sky just as it was then...

and the sea too...

But now you can go to sea pub and take sun&beer...
Patarei Seafortress-prison
This unique 19th century example of Tallinn’s top architecture has now in the 21st century changed from a longtime symbol of repressions to a favorite place for residents of the nation’s capital and visitors, a multifunctional place to spend free time.
